The Bible calls debt a curse and children a blessing. But in our culture, we apply for a curse and reject blessings. Something is wrong with this picture. - Doug Phillips

Rejoice for Our Sunny Today!!

Sunny is two weeks shy of seven years old.  She remembers walking in China as a toddler before she began breaking and wasn't allowed to walk anymore.  After repeated fractures, poor treatment and no physical therapy she physically couldn't walk anymore.

But our God is So Big.  So kind, so gentle, and he knew Sunny was wishing to walk again someday.  He brought her out of China just in time.  Had she endured much more of their "treatment" she might have never walked again.

Our goal for Sunny was to rod her long bones in her legs and then get her lots and lots of physical therapy and hope that by one year home, she would be walking independently.  There are plenty of other OI kids who walk, so why shouldn't Sunny!

She, apparently, thought the one year goal was a little too generous and has decided to cut that in half.

So here it is, for your viewing pleasure....almost 6 months to the day after she landed in the US.....it ain't pretty, but she's up and moving......out of her wheelchair......without her walker......so without further adieu.......

All the glory goes to God, who has made good on His promise to restore the years the locusts have eaten.  He is Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals!

Each time Sunny breaks, or needs a surgery it is a step backward in her walking progress.  But today her heart was filled with Joy to know that it is possible for her!

Rejoice with our family today!!

Just precious! You must be so happy. Our girl had her tiny foot amputated and was immobile for several months after learning to walk and the first few steps she took afterwards with her prosthetic were full of joy! Praise God for what He has done for your girl!
